Dr Liz Senn specialises in working with infants and children facing neurodevelopmental challenges, from those that need just a little help meeting their developmental milestones to those with more severe challenges.

She obtained her medical PhD from Deakin University in conjunction with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, researching the effects of both maternal and infant gut bacterial composition, at 4 different time points, on the infant’s cognitive and behavioural outcomes at 2 years of age. She was the recipient of a highly competitive Rotary Australia scholarship. Prior to her PhD, she obtained first class honours in Psychology from Monash University where she researched the effects of treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea on cognition, behaviour and quality of life in children aged between 3-5 years of age. Dr Senn also holds a Bachelor of Science from Monash University, majoring in Pharmacology, and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary).

Dr Senn has extensive experience working with children. She is passionate about early intervention. Intensive intervention in the first 1000 days of life can make dramatic, positive changes to the neurodevelopmental trajectory of a child and of their families. She uses various techniques, including those from the Feldenkrais Method, that work to connect, build and strengthen the nervous system, which in turn builds and strengthens the foundational skills that the infants and children need to meet their neurodevelopmental milestones.

Dr Senn speaks English and Japanese.
